Program name: Masterclass
Fee structure: Complimentary, included in term fees
Format: Group session, lasting 1-2 hours
Schedule: 1-2 times per term at a mutually agreed time (depending on the individual schedules of participants)
Program description:
The Masterclass program is held every term and is open to advanced Aalto piano students. Although the program is optional, it is highly encouraged for students to attend.
The Masterclasses are NOT group lessons. They are a forum for students to share their piano playing with others under the supervision of the teacher.
Through attending Masterclass, students have the chance to perform in front of an audience more regularly, and ultimately build confidence for future performances.
Students who attend but do not perform will still benefit from regular attendance. They will learn—be taught—how to listen "actively" as opposed to "passively".
